Description
After crafting concept albums like The Party (2016), The Neon Skyline (2020), and Wilds (2021), Shauf aimed to create "a normal album... a collection of songs that aren't related to each other." However, as he worked on it, the songs naturally gravitated towards a central character, Norm, who turns out to be a stalker. Shauf intended for this album to allow more room for interpretation compared to his previous work, a choice sparked by a humorous misunderstanding when he didn’t realize his computer screen had frozen for 10 minutes while watching Mulholland Drive.
So, give the lyrics a listen—you might find yourself feeling less alone. Just don’t be surprised if you start checking over your shoulder for a Norm of your own.
