Description
Two lovers flee Chicago for the Texas Panhandle, where they pose as siblings while plotting to inherit a dying wheat farmer's land and fortune. Terrence Malick's second film, shot almost entirely during "magic hour" by Néstor Almendros and Haskell Wexler, is one of the most visually beautiful films ever made — a gorgeous meditation on longing, deception, and the American landscape.
