Description
Modern Vampires of the City is the third studio album by American indie rock band Vampire Weekend, released on May 14, 2013, through XL Recordings. The album's writing process began during soundchecks on their tour supporting their previous record, Contra (2010). Following a period where each band member pursued individual musical projects, they reconvened in 2011 to continue developing the album. Unlike their previous efforts, this time the band brought in an external producer, Ariel Rechtshaid, marking the first time they collaborated with an outside producer, with no set deadline for completing the project.
