More Photographs (A Continuum)
Description
In More Photographs (A Continuum), Morby revisits the themes of his landmark album with new insights and creative callbacks that connect his body of work. He notes, “Everything you once thought was familiar suddenly appears differently, shifting shapes, color and sonic landscapes.”
“Five Easy Pieces Revisited” presents the same moment from Bobby’s perspective, while “This Is A Photograph II” approaches its predecessor from a different angle. “Triumph” delves into the myths and deaths surrounding Memphis, inspired by Big Star’s Chris Bell. “Kingdom Of Hearts” serves as an origin story for both This Is A Photograph and its new companion.
Morby states, “With every collection of songs, I feel I must cast them out of me before moving onto the next project. Here, I knew that what I had begun with This Is A Photograph was not finished.” This collection, featuring nine tracks—three re-imaginings and six new songs—acts as a prequel, sequel, and primer to an already rich record from one of modern songwriting's brightest voices.
