Description
Gia Margaret’s Romantic Piano started as a playful title, but the album’s spare, gentle piano compositions evoke the essence of Romanticism, drawing inspiration from nature, solitude, and contented melancholy. Influenced by Erik Satie, Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guébrou, and Masakatsu Takagi, Margaret's instrumental pieces are calming and introspective, far from conventional romantic clichés.
After losing her voice while touring her debut There’s Always Glimmer, she turned to ambient music with Mia Gargaret, showcasing her skill in composition. Romantic Piano continues that path, offering a wordless, emotionally resonant journey that reveals Margaret as a formidable composer. Originally a composition student, she abandoned her formal training to focus on songwriting but finds in this album a return to her cinematic aspirations. Romantic Piano captures a deep sense of awe and introspection, channeling the timeless themes of Romanticism in modern form.
