Chloë and the Next 20th Century is the fifth studio album by Josh Tillman, under the name Father John Misty, released on April 8, 2022, through Sub Pop and Bella Union. Tillman began writing the album in spring 2020 and recorded it between August and December 2020. By August, he had written "Kiss Me (I Loved You)", "We Could Be Strangers", "Buddy's Rendezvous", and "The Next 20th Century." He wrote the remaining songs before resuming recording in October 2020.
