Description
The "Hotel Arkada" is a Croatian lodging on Hvar Island, renovated while retaining its old-world charm. It has hosted holiday-goers for decades, giving it a "well-worn, well-loved" feel. After exploring the lobby and ballroom, Lattimore's friend Stacy advised her to "say goodbye to Hotel Arkada," as it might not be the same upon her return. The hotel was renovated shortly after, losing its original charm. Lattimore's album reflects themes of evanescence, such as "fading flowers in vases" and "getting older," capturing the sentiment of change during absence while striving to "maintain sensitivity" without succumbing to despondency.
The lead single, "And Then He Wrapped His Wings Around Me," featuring Meg Baird and Walt McClements, was released on the same day, followed by a second single, "Horses, Glossy on the Hill," on September 6. Lattimore will promote the album with a 30-date tour in the United States, starting on September 24.
