Peter Bogdanovich's delightful, perfectly cast comedy is shot in rich black-and-white by Laszlo Kovacs and brimming with period atmosphere. The father-daughter charm of the O'Neals, both on and off screen, gives the film an irresistible warmth beneath all the double-dealing.
