Description
On May 22, 2021, The Alchemist tweeted that he and Earl Sweatshirt had hidden a whole album on YouTube under a fake name and album cover, and no one had found it yet. In August 2023, fans discovered a link on Earl's website to a Gala Music page featuring daily puzzles. The first puzzle led to a tweet from The Alchemist, which revealed the phrase "Speak the Truth" (the English translation of "Voir Dire"). On August 22, The Alchemist shared an Instagram post with the album's tracklist, where a feature on the song "Sentry" was blurred. Two days later, it was revealed that Mike was the feature after a music video for "Sentry" appeared on Gala Music. A flyer for a listening party in London on August 25 was posted by The Alchemist. Later that day, Voir Dire was released for free on Gala Music with 11 NFTs. On September 15, it was announced that Voir Dire would hit streaming platforms on October 6, featuring a slightly altered tracklist with two tracks featuring Vince Staples.
