Bloom is Beach House's fourth album, co-produced with Chris Coady and released on May 15, 2012. Written during two years of touring and recorded over seven weeks at Sonic Ranch in Texas, the album builds on Teen Dream (2010) with added live drums alongside drum machine rhythms. The album received critical acclaim, debuting at number seven on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 copies sold in its first week. It was later ranked among the best albums of 2012 and named number 53 on Pitchfork's "100 Best Albums of the Decade So Far" in 2014.
