Description
Midori Takada's 1983 solo percussion album for RCA Japan's Red Seal imprint is one of the great cult records of the twentieth century — an hour of solo marimba, gongs, and hand percussion that moves between hypnotic repetition and dramatic surge with the unhurried confidence of a master. Long inaccessible outside Japan, its reissue via WRWTFWW and Palto Flats introduced it to a global audience and sparked renewed fascination with Japanese minimalism. An extraordinary, transportive listen.
