#1 Record is the debut album by American rock band Big Star, released on April 24, 1972, through Memphis-based Ardent Records. While critics lauded the album for its vocal harmonies and strong songwriting, it struggled with poor distribution, selling fewer than 10,000 copies initially. The album later gained greater recognition in the late 1970s, particularly in the UK, when EMI reissued it alongside Radio City as a double LP, responding to growing demand.
