Description

The sophomore narrative feature from Martin Scorsese, long overlooked in the canon of one of cinema's greatest filmmakers, arrives on 4K UHD for the first time worldwide from a new restoration supervised by Scorsese himself. "Boxcar" Bertha Thompson (Barbara Hershey), a transient young woman in the American South of the 1930s, falls in with union organizer "Big" Bill Shelly (David Carradine) and embarks on an old-fashioned crime spree robbing banks and trains. Combining true crime grit with the excesses of drive-in exploitation, the film bears the hallmarks of both Scorsese's filmography and producers Roger and Julie Corman.
