Hair High (2004) is Bill Plympton’s twisted animated take on 1950s teen romances and high school musicals, following a love triangle between a star quarterback, a cheerleader, and a rebellious outsider that spirals into jealousy, murder, and supernatural revenge. The film mixes deadpan humour, horror elements, and Plympton’s unmistakably chaotic hand-drawn animation style.
