Description
A repressed Vienna Conservatory piano teacher (Isabelle Huppert) is consumed by dangerous desires when a brilliant young student (Benoît Magimel) falls for her. Michael Haneke's devastating character study — based on Elfriede Jelinek's novel — features a monumental performance by Huppert that won her the Best Actress prize at Cannes, a film that refuses every soft redemption and easy resolution.
