Description
Everybody Digs Bill Evans was Evans's second album as a leader and his 30th recording project, released 27 months after his debut, New Jazz Conceptions. Producer Orrin Keepnews had hoped for a follow-up sooner, but the self-critical pianist refused to consider himself ready for another solo effort at that time.
Keepnews described Evans as "a bespectacled blond, extremely reserved and mild-mannered," noting that he remained unaffected by the praise he received from jazz insiders.
