Description
The Legendary 1963 Piedmont Sides is Mississippi John Hurt's first album since his influential 1928 recordings for Okeh. Originally released in 1963, it was recorded after his rediscovery in the early '60s and features many of his best-known songs, including "Candy Man Blues," "Salty Dog," "Spike Driver Blues," "Louis Collins," "Spanish Fandango," and "Avalon Blues." The album showcases Hurt in fine form, accompanied only by guitar and harmonica.
