Description
Teen brothers Donnie and Joe Emerson recorded Dreamin' Wild in 1979 in their home studio in rural Fruitland, Washington. Isolated from major music trends of the time, they created a unique blend of bedroom pop, funk, and yacht rock. Their father, a farmer with no music experience, supported their ambitions by building a recording studio and a 300-seat concert hall on their property, taking out a second mortgage to fund the project.
Despite efforts, including a local TV feature and distributing their album in nearby stores, Dreamin' Wild received little attention at the time. Nevertheless, Donnie and Joe continued in music and remain active performers. The album has since been remastered and reissued by Light In The Attic, with liner notes, expanded artwork, and photos from the Emersons’ collection. The story is also featured in the documentary The Rock-n-Roll Farmers: Donnie & Joe Emerson.
