Description
A Texas sheriff discovers a skull in the desert that may belong to his corrupt predecessor — and his investigation uncovers decades of buried secrets connecting several families and communities along the US-Mexico border. John Sayles's richly layered mystery-drama is one of the great American films of the 1990s: a nuanced, humane portrait of race, memory, and the myths we build around the past.
