Description
An aging warlord abdicates his kingdom among his three sons, triggering a war of succession that destroys everything he has built. Akira Kurosawa's final epic masterwork — a transposition of King Lear to feudal Japan, shot over several years on the slopes of Fuji — is one of the most visually overwhelming films ever made, an elegy for power that unfolds in ravishing widescreen color.
