The Stunt Man (4K-UHD)

A fugitive (Steve Railsback) stumbles onto a film set while fleeing the police and is pressed into service as a stunt man by the tyrannical, mercurial director Eli Cross (Peter O’Toole). As he falls deeper into the world of the film — and into the arms of its leading lady (Barbara Hershey) — he can no longer tell what is real and what is performance, who is protecting him and who might be planning to use his death as a spectacular on-screen moment.

Richard Rush’s audacious, self-reflexive masterwork was long suppressed and nearly impossible to see. Now fully restored in 4K, it arrives with the Oscar-nominated performance by Peter O’Toole at its centre: one of cinema’s great portraits of the director as god.
