Description
Frank Galvin (Paul Newman) is a faded, alcoholic Boston lawyer who takes on an apparently routine medical malpractice case — and discovers that the hospital and a high-powered attorney (James Mason) are working to bury the truth. Sidney Lumet's courtroom drama, written by David Mamet, is a stunning study of a man who finds one last chance to do the right thing, anchored by Newman in perhaps his finest performance. A taut, morally serious film about legal corruption, institutional power, and the lonely struggle to maintain integrity.
