Description
Thelonious Alone in San Francisco is jazz pianist Thelonious Monk's third solo album, recorded in 1959. It follows his earlier solo works, Piano Solo (also known as Solo 1954) and Thelonious Himself (1957).
The album was recorded at Fugazi Hall in San Francisco, California, on October 21 and 22, 1959, without an audience present.
"Bluehawk" and "Round Lights" are improvised blues tracks that only appear in this recording, while the other Monk compositions had been recorded previously.
