Description
A Catholic priest (Song Kang-ho) volunteers for a medical experiment to defeat a lethal virus, only to be transformed into a vampire — and begins an obsessive affair with a childhood friend's wife (Kim Ok-vin) that leads them both into a spiral of violence, desire, and impossible moral choices. Park Chan-wook's wildly inventive vampire film — winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes 2009 — is a dizzyingly original genre mashup: part Gothic melodrama, part black comedy, part erotic thriller, all channeled through Park's unique visual and ethical sensibility.
