Description
Originally issued in 1975 on Black Records/Teichiku and produced by jazz arranger Yuji Ohno, Yoshiko Sai's Mangekyou (Kaleidoscope) fuses Japanese folk sensibility with psychedelic arrangements and a haunting, otherworldly vocal style. Long out of print and highly sought on the collectors' market, this WEWANTSOUNDS reissue marks the album's first release outside Japan in five decades. A singular record — ethereal and grounded at once — that rewards the patient, attentive listener.
