Description
Basia Bulat’s new album, Basia’s Palace, isn’t set in a château—it’s her apartment, her creative space, and a reflection of her inner world. A mix of love, memories, and chaos, the “palace” comes alive in the quiet hours, filled with synths, whispers, and nostalgic influences like Leonard Cohen, early Eurovision tunes, and her great uncle’s Maryla Rodowicz LPs. Working with co-producer Mark Lawson, the album blends dreamy, squelchy synths, strings, and vibrant, evocative moments. Tracks like “My Angel” and “Laughter” evolve from intimate to intense, while “Disco Polo” honors her father's love for Polish dance music, and “Baby” turns a familiar theme into an elegant dance number. The album draws inspiration from Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot, and The Cardigans. Basia’s Palace drops February 21st, 2025 via Secret City Records.
