Description
Two lighthouse keepers (Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson) are stranded on a remote New England island in the 1890s as a ferocious storm sets in. What begins as cabin-fever tension descends into myth, madness, and something far more elemental. Robert Eggers shot on orthochromatic black-and-white film stock in a near-square 1.19:1 ratio, conjuring the look of silent-era photography. A hallucinatory, deeply strange masterpiece.
